The Trio

Gossamer Trio is the Nashville trio to book for all your jazz needs. Smooth, playful, sophisticated, festive; Gossamer Trio plays American songbook classics and jazz interpretations of contemporary songs with character and class - perfect for cocktail hours and weddings, corporate functions and private parties.

The trio is perfect for the foreground, background or that sweet spot in between, gauging the vibe of the gathering and adapting to suit. From Chet Baker to Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra to Norah Jones, their song list includes everything from uptempo bebop tunes, light hearted western swing to lush ballads.

The Players

Lead singer and band leader Cy Winstanley hires Nashville’s most professional and respected players to complete the ensemble. The classic sound is piano/keys, upright bass and Cy on guitar and vocals. 

All players are seasoned pros, having performed all around the US and internationally, as well as regular performances in Nashville. Gossamer Trio are an ideal choice to complement your wedding, cocktail hour, event or celebration.

Gossamer Trio also offers an ’acoustic’ option, swapping piano for fiddle/violin. This format still swings but has a more old school, Western Swing and ‘Hillbilly Jazz’ sound, honoring Nashville’s history as the country music capital. 

And should it be saxophone you’re after, the classic version can be augmented to include sax, playing the same material plus a few more sax-centric instrumentals.  

If you’re looking for something smaller, Cy performs as a duo with keys or upright bass, depending on your preference.  

The Songs

Drawing on a wide range of influences, the setlist centers around the ‘American Songbook’ - a collection of jazz standards that have been popular since the 1930’s-60’s. That said, the songs are interpreted in a number of ways from swing to ballad, to groove or ‘backbeat’ oriented. There are also a number of pop tunes that will be recognizable as such, while have a jazz sensibility about them. New tunes are constantly being added
